Meet Fantastic Daisy Artichoke. She isn't quite like other folk! She has strange pets and funny clothes and she knows lots of funny jokes. Fantastic Daisy Artichoke, a new and memorable character by Quentin Blake, will have as great an appeal for young children as the immortal Mr Magnolia. The delightfully off-beat rhyming text complements the artwork perfectly.
"Blake's signature drawings with watercolor wash invigorate the proceedings as the trio cavorts across the pages." --Publishers Weekly
"Clever images are at the heart of the text, and the quick rhythms move them seamlessly forward. Cartoon dialogue bubbles convey the humorous conversational asides of the friends. With her Pippi Longstockinglike pigtails flying at all angles, Daisy turns cartwheels, plays the banjo, and delights in the fact that she "isn't quite like other folk." Blake's trademark line drawings are full of movement and color and capture Daisy's free-spirited nature. This story of a fun and eccentric friend is sure to please children." --School Library Journal
