Gay Hay is a New Zealand environmental enthusiast and primary school teacher, who volunteers for Nga Uruora Trust as the Pukerua Bay school environmental officer. She has helped children plant and nurture over 6,000 trees. Margaret Tolland is a New Zealand artist and teacher, currently serving as the Education Coordinator at Pataka Museum of Arts and Cultures. She was a finalist in the 2014 New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults.
