Nancy knows she's forgotten something. Something important. When she tries to remember, she thinks of all kinds of other things instead. She remembers things she knows and things she doesn't quite know. She remembers things one way, then another. Sometimes she remembers with her ears or her stomach or even her heart. But Nancy knows she's still forgetting something. It's only when Nancy stops thinking altogether that she finally remembers the very important thing she's forgotten.
PRAISE FOR Nancy Knows:
"The slight tale is charming, but it is merely the vehicle for a truly beautiful and unique visual tour de force . . . Its a work to be shared in wonderment and delight. Pure fascination." --Starred Review,Kirkus Reviews
"[I]ts the how-did-she-do-that nature of Youngs paper constructions that will have readers returning to these pages again and again." --Starred Review,Publishers Weekly
"This story is told in simple, evocative language and is illustrated in minimalist style . . . Nancy is a charming protagonist with a memory like an elephant. She wont be soon forgotten." --Starred Review,School Library Journal
"Nancy Knowsis a great example of the power and charm of simple storytelling . . . The images are certain to appeal to any reader who is a fan of highly visual search-and-identify books such as the popular I Spy series, but Youngs interweaving of story and character with her art provides a much richer reading experience. This is the sort of picture book that has the power to create happy memories for its readers." --Starred Review,Quill& Quire
