Author Bio

Katherine Halligan worked in childrens publishing for many years, writing over 150 novelty, non-fiction and picture books and running the non-fiction list at Nosy Crow. After living in the UK for twenty years, Katherine recently returned with her family to her native California. HerStory (Nosy Crow) is Katherine's highly acclaimed collection of biographies of 50 women and girls who changed the world, illustrated by Sarah Walsh. Other titles include Bang! The Story of How Life on Earth Began, illustrated by Amy Grimes (Walker Books) and Sunday, Funday: An Activity For Every Week Of The Year, illustrated by Jesus Verona (Nosy Crow).

Guilherme Karsten lives in Blumenau, southern Brazil. In 2010, he won a national contest for new childrens books illustrators, and has been working with editorial illustrations since. His first book, as author and illustrator, Ride, won the honourable mention at the the 2017 Serpa International Picturebook Prize (organized by Planeta Tangerina, Portugal).
