Description

Mia and Ben are the very best of friends. They live side by side at the edge of a great, wide lake and together they sail, and swing, and sing. But the thing they love the most is making paper planes. They dream of one day being able to make a plane that will fly all the way across the lake, and their planes become more and more intricate...

But one day: terrible news. Ben's family are moving far, far away. How can Mia and Ben stay best friends if they are so far apart And how will they ever realise their dream of making a plane that can fly across their lake

Find out in this moving, lyrical story of friendship and flight.

He has written several picture books, including the award winning Letterbox Lil and Stripy Horse series, illustrated by Karen Wall and The Snow Lion, illustrated by Richard Jones. Born in Warwickshire, Richard Jones has been living and working in Devon for over 20 years. After leaving university with a degree in graphic design and illustration, he stayed on a little longer to complete a PhD.He spent several years working in a busy childrens library, issuing and shelving other artists picture books before one day wondering if it wasnt about time he had a proper go at creating one or two himself! He now writes and illustrates from the smallest room in his home. Across the roof tops of Exeter, and between the rounded Devon hills, he can just about make out the distant sparkling sea.
