Pebble the Pony lives on a lonely moor, but he loves to see people who come there from the town when they come there on their summer holidays especially when they bring picnics with them.
When he decides to visit the town to see what its like for himself, he meets an old lady, Miss Moss, who comes to the aid of the tired pony. A friendship begins, and before long Pebble is a welcome visitor to Miss Mosss farm, and happily helps her when she is unable to go to town herself to go shopping.
Benedict Blathwaytspent much of his youth, childhood and early years of married life on Mull. He has written and illustrated over 50 picture books for Julie MacRae, Walker Books, Hutchinson, OUP and Rex Fox, among others, and his work has appeared in 14 languages. He won the Smarties Prize in 1988 forTangle and the Firesticks.
