Join dogs big, little, loud and quiet, in this beautifully illustrated, timeless classic from beloved author P.D. Eastman!
Join the big and little dogs at play in this vibrant, action-packed Blue Back Beginner Book from the celebrated author and illustrator P. D. Eastman!
Using a 75-word vocabulary and clear illustrations, pre-readers are helpfully introduced to the concepts of number, colour, and opposites.
Beginner Books have been designed to appeal directly to children through the use of humour, rhyme and bright pictures that can be 'read' even by the non-reading child.
Some Beginner Books are simple stories, others are hilarious nonsense: both types have been designed to give children confidence and make them want to go on reading.
P. D. Eastman was an author-illustrator who created many childrens books, including Are You My Mother, Go, Dog. Go!, and The Best Nest. Trained at the National Academy of Design, he enlisted in the army in 1943 and was assigned to the Signal Corps Film Unitwhich was headed by Theodor Geisel, who would eventually become known to the world as Dr. Seuss! After Geisel later approached him to write for his new Beginner Book series, Eastman published his first book, Sam and the Firefly. Since then, he has sold more than 30 million books and become one of the most beloved childrens book authors in the world.
