Author Bio

Meg McKinlay grew up in Bendigo, Victoria, in a book-loving, TV- and car-free household. On the long and winding path to becoming a childrens writer, she has worked a variety of jobs including swim instructor, tour guide, translator and teacher. These days, she lives with her family near the ocean in Fremantle and divides her time between teaching and writing, a balance that swings wildly between chaos and calm.

Nicky Johnston is an award-winning author and illustrator of over thirty books for children including CBCA 2023 Shortlisted book Jrns Magnificent Imagination, 2022 Honour book Amiras Suitcase and 2022 Speech Pathology book of the Year The Incredibly Busy Mind of Bowen Batholomew Crisp. Nickys illustration style is often described as whimsical, playful, narrative, emotive and colourful. She loves to work in watercolour, ink, pencils, pastel, and printing techniques. Together with Laura Bunting, she is the co-creator of the "Coco" series.
