Lately, things have been getting Charlie down. Its like hes got a big rock that justwont go away. He talks to Dad about it, and Dad brings out a dusty old book wit ha lot of tough rules. The first rule is you dont talk about rocks (feelings). But therules make things worse Charlies rock gets bigger, and everything feels darkand scary. They need some new rules fast.
Sacha and Josh have collaborated previously on four picture books:Keys/Ng K, The Marble Maker/Te Kaihanga Mpere, The Bomb/TePoh and Dazzlehands/Ringakreko. Keys was a finalist in the picturebook category and Ng K was winner of the Mori Language Awardof the New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults 2015.Ng K also won Te Tohu Taurapa Award in the LIANZA ChildrensBook Awards 2015 and was selected for the IBBY Honour List in2016. Te Kaihanga Mpere won Te Kura Pounamu award of the NewZealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults 2017. The Bombwas the supreme winner, the Margaret Mahy Book of the Year, atthe New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults, 2019,where it also won the Picture Book Award. It won the ScholasticNew Zealand Award for Best Childrens Book, PANZ Book DesignAwards, in 2019, and it won the Storylines Notable Book Award,Picture Book, 2019.
