Meritxell Mart was born in Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain). She studied Music and Humanities and has worked as a piano teacher, editor, and university professor. Today, she devotes herself entirely to crafting and writing stories for children. She has published nearly a hundred books, most of them illustrated by Xavier Salom. Together, they have won several awards, including the Quebec Booksellers Prize and the Reykjavk Literary Award. Xavier Salom is a recognized illustrator from Barcelona. His work has garnered significant recognition, particularly for his book OFF, which addresses the risks of nuclear energy. Salom has won the Prix of Quebec Booksellers award for the book Under the Waves (2022) and the Icelandic award for The Marvelous and Horrifying Grandmas House (2023). One of the latest book by the pair, A Monsters Meal, published by Seuil Jeunesse, has achieved remarkable success, with over a hundred thousand copies sold, marking his fifth collaboration with the publisher.
