Description

Embark on a dreamy, night-time jaunt with a young boy and the moon. Overcoming a fear of the dark and discovering the world at night lives at the heart of this poetic tale. Includes notes about the moon and plants and animals that thrive in the wee hours. AGES: 1 to 7 AUTHOR: Carolyn Curtis is an early childhood music educator and magazine editor for WarmLines Parent Resources, a non-profit organisation. Carolyn currently lives in Stoughton, Massachusetts with her husband, son, stepson, sister, and many furry pets of all kinds. A graduate in illustration from the London College of Printing, Alison Jay has been illustrating children's books for ten years. To create her unique style, she uses alkyd oil paint on paper with a crackling varnish, which gives her illustrations an antique, nostalgic quality. Alison lives and works in London, England.

Reviews

"The rhyming text is told in first person, with the repetitive, soothing refrain of the words from the title effectively echoing throughout" Kirkus Reviews
"I love the rhyming text the book is written in, because part of the beauty of poetry is its role in being able to say so much in so few words. The story is also beautifully illustrated" Scholastic Child Education PLUS
