George doesn't want to spend the whole night moonbathing alone. But then the strangest creature he has ever seen comes out of the sea. At first it seems that they will never be able to understand each other, but a few lines in the sand help them speak without words. And then they realise that there are some things you don't need language for.
A beautifully written and illustrated story of friendship from the critically acclaimed author and illustrator of The Sea Tiger.
There's lots on offer in this lovely portrait of a friendship bridging difference - a splendid vision of what dreams can build, and a reminder of the riches that lie unseen in the people (and monsters) all around us * Publishers Weekly *
Victoria Turnbull was born in York, and spent her childhood absorbed by books and drawing.
After studying Graphic Design at Staffordshire University, she went on to take up a place on the MA in Children's Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art, graduating in 2013. As part of her MA, Victoria created a picture book, The Sea Tiger, which has seen her named the winner of the Association of Illustrators New Talent Award 2013 (Children's Book Category) and was published by Templar in June 2014. The Sea Tiger was also shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, 2015.
Victoria now lives in London, where she both writes and illustrates her own stories.
