Jan Fearnley was born in North East England in 1965. she studied Graphic Design but her interest in childrens books led her back to college to train as a teacher. Jan worked as a primary school teacher and on an inner-city literacy project, before starting as an author and illustrator of childrens books. She lives with her husband and cats in Surrey.
