All Brad wants is to drive diggers but he has to be pirate! He is apprenticed onto the Salty Dog pirate ship under the fearsome Captain Blood. Brad fails all the pirate tests and is given one last chance... When his shovel breaks all looks lost, but with the help of the local building site, he proves that pirates do drive diggers after all!
Alex grew up near Winchester and as a child loved reading books, such as Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton. She studied maths at University but after a career as an actuary she decided to retrain as a journalist and her love of writing grew! She is now a proactive member of SCBWI and spends her time in Surrey writing books and looking after her two young sons. Author of: Yuck! said the Yak, Mine! Mine! Mine! Said the Porcupine and Pirates Dont Drive Diggers Duncan is a freelance illustrator with a background in character animation. More recently he has been working in childrens literature both as an illustrator and an author. The first book that he has illustrated for Maverick, Pirates Dont Drive Diggers was published in May 2015.
