School Days are full of new adventures.
On some days there are butterflies in tummies, upside down lunchboxes and lines in the bathroom.
Other days are for singing really loud, dressing up in costumes and listening to stories.
But no matter what kind of School Day it is, there are always friends to be made and fun times to be had.
A book to celebrate starting school.
"This celebration of differences displays great respect for readers' intelligence and yields more with each reading." Kirkus Reviews starred review of The Pros and Cons of Being A Frog
"This is award-winning illustrator deGennaro's first book that she also penned. . . . It is the illustrations that make it special. Hand it to kids and families who gravitate to picture books with intricate and fascinating images." School Library Journal on The Pros and Cons of Being a Frog
Sue deGennaro is a best-selling author and illustrator. She has worked with top calibre authors such as Ursula Dubosarsky and Jackie French, as well as writing and illustrating many of her own critically acclaimed titles, includingThe Pros and Cons of Being a Frog, which was shortlisted for the CBCA Early Childhood Book of the Year in 2013.The Tomorrow Book, written by Jackie French and illustrated by Sue deGennaro, won The Environment Award for Children's Literature in 2011.
Sue's illustrations are lively and fun often imbued with humour, but also a wonderful softness. She spent years working as a trapeze artist in the circus, plus a stint in a lolly shop, so she knows all about what kids like. Shes held many highly successful workshops with school children through Booked Out, and also teaches writing and illustration to adults.
