Description

At night we sail over the inky black sea,
me and my dad, in our little red boat.
We cast out our nets, and we wait in the dark,
and the star light shines above us.

Follow the journey of one little girl and her father as their fishing boat comes back home.

Clever paper engineering makes objects 'light up' on every spread - from the roaming beams of the lighthouse, to the warm yellow lights of the fishing village. With a lyrical, repetitive text and atmospheric art by The Ride-by-Nights illustrator Carolina Rabei, this twinkly tale will have little readers feeling sleepy in no time.

Reviews

Sea Lights would be a great book to stimulate a conversation about night fishing, the sea and different kinds of light sources. Its simple repetitive text makes it an ideal picture book for a beginner reader * Story Snug Blog *
Caroline Rabei's rich, painterly artwork is perfectly suited to this night-time adventure starring a little girl and her fisherman father * Books for Keeps *
Cosy, dramatic and poetic in equal measure * Early Years Educator *
