A uplifting and touching story about curiosity and caring that is perfect for sharing.
Stella is a great detective. She cant help noticing everything around her clouds shaped like horses, wheelie bins with faces, a lonely glove on a fence, people that look like their dogs and even a man with a furry hat that looks like a cat on his head. Stella tells Dad about everything shes seen but Dad is worried that shes going to hurt peoples feelings.
But when Stella spots a sad lady in the park she knows that speaking up is just the right thing to do.
A bright, warm picture book about a father-and-daughter trip to the park that encourages taking the time to look. The free, childlike images are full of things to notice. * Sunday Times *
Jane Porters wonderfully empowering story is a must to share with young children at home and in nursery or school. Maisie Paradise Shearrings brightly coloured scenes, expand the telling with a wealth of detail, not spoken of small animals, birds, flowers, patterns, textures, and more. Having read the story in its entirety first, Id like to think an adult and young child would spend ages looking at and discussing each spread. -- Jill Bennet * Red Reading Hub *
This picture book comes highly recommended because it is full of heart and gently teaches us that when we slow down and observe just as children do we live in the moment and are present, and that is such a gift. -- @educ8wirral * Instagram *
