Ben Brown writes children's books, non-fiction and short stories for children and adults. Since 1992, he has been a publisher and writer, collaborating with illustrator Helen Taylor, on numerous publications. Ben Brown was awarded the Maori Writer's Residency at the Michael King Writers' Centre for 2011. He lives in Christchurch. Helen Taylor is an award-winning children's book illustrator and exhibiting artist with works in private collections around New Zealand and overseas. She has been twice shortlisted for the LIANZA Children's Book Awards and in 2006, won Best Picture Book in the New Zealand Post Book Awards for Children and Young Adults, with her book A Booming in the Night. Helen lives in a creaky old yellow cottage in th portside town of Lyttelton.
