Author Bio

Product of a single parent, growing up in Chicago with my brother and sister, I spent a lot of time watching cartoons and playing outside with the other neighborhood kids. I have always been a kid at heart, very creative, and have a vivid imagination. I often daydreamed of a life outside the normal as an escape from reality. My imagination and keen eye for things out of the ordinary led me to a successful career in the U.S. Coast Guard.Growing up with a mom who was a high school special education teacher, a dad who worked hard in construction field with artisan flare, and siblings who attracted all kinds of friends, I learned early on that everyone is amazingly unique and everyone connects to someone. Throughout my family adventures and my present U.S. Coast Guard adventures, I have learned that sometimes connections last for a little while, and that's okay because they can sometimes lead you to a special connection that are so awesome that they last for a lifetime!
