What do you do when you're feeling so-so Do you talk to a friend What happens if you have no one to talk to
Snoozie is a cat, who doesn't like moving. Sunny is a dog, who's afraid of the rain. They're very different, but they are the best of friends. One day, while out on their morning walk, they meet a small, timid dog who has been feeling 'so-so' for quite some time.
How will this chance encounter change all their lives
Amits soft-edged illustrations, done in a palette of muted blues, reds, and grays, depict unclothed animals who walk on all fours and play boisterously but inhabit human homes and write using pen and paper. There is nary a human in sight, which lends a whimsically surreal touch to this gentle friendship tale. In Appels translation from Hebrew, Ben-Zvis narrative unfolds with a delicate sweetness that never tips into the saccharine. An understated delight from Israel. -STARRED REVIEW, Kirkus
"Readers can pause after each page to admire the beautiful illustrations by Ofra Amit...Little So-So is as sweet and delicate as a chocolate cream puff (my favorite line in the book!) as well as socially anxious. Readers will be able to relate to Snoozies and Sunnys enjoyment of fun games and learn that just a little bit of bravery can go a long way toward bringing new friends into your life."
