The platypus is one of the most extraordinary animals in the world. With its duck bill webbed feet and tail like a beaver it is perfectly built for swimming! But poor Penny Platypus has never been able to swim and what makes it worse is she just doesn't know why. All she knows is that she's terrified of the water and is cruelly teased by one bully in particular. Fortunately she has a best friend Percy who is always there to help and reassure her - until the day a miraculous accident happens that changes her life forever!
Robert Cox has had jobs in radio copywriting, children's books, travel films, TV sitcoms, BBC writing/broadcasting, and running a school bookselling business that combined creative workshops during school visits. He has written three novels and produced a series of films for schools featuring six famous children's authors ('Children's Authors TV'). The Platypus Who Couldn't Swim is his fifth picture book with Jim Robbins.
