In a world where all creatures read, marvellous transformations occur. Cats reading about mice become mice. Horses reading about fish become fish. Even a rhinoceros that reads about butterflies becomes butterflies. This beautiful, uniquely illustrated fable about how books can change us in marvellous and unexpected ways has captured the imaginations of many children and adults around the world. Stephen Parlato's stunning, surreal collage creations are unique among picture books and will inspire hours of looking and imagining.
Stephen Parlato, originally from Levittown, Long Island, New York, resides and works in his studio in Baltimore, Maryland. A graduate of both The Cooper Union School of Art and Architecture and The Maryland Institute's Hoffberger School of Graduate Painting he is considered one of the foremost collage artists working today. Parlato is the author/illustrator of the picture books Dragons Love (Simply Read Books, 2009) and The World That Loved Books (Simply Read Books, 2008). Find out more at www.stephenparlato.com.
