These are just a few of the quirky groupings artist Tai Snaith uses to categorise over 270 of her favourite diurnal animals from around the world. Each animal is drawn to scale and uses people and body parts as comparison. The Arctic bumblebee is the width of any eye, the sulphur-crested cockatoo is the length of an arm, and the wild yak is taller than a basketball player! Author Bio

Tai Snaith is a Melbourne artist, curator and writer. She has written and illustrated six picture books to date, all published by Thames & Hudson. Tai has exhibited widely in both artist-run and commercial spaces since graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2002. She recently created large site specific visual installations for the Metro Creative program with Royal Botanic Gardens and The State Library of Victoria, which was shortlisted in the World Illustration Awards in London. She has been awarded the Australia Council for the Arts Tokyo studio residency and numerous state and federal project grants. Tai's artwork is held in both private and public collections, including the NGA Works on Paper collection, Banyule City collection and Artbank.
