Tim Waitai-Tipene, (Ngti Kuri/Ngti Whatua) was adopted into the Waitai-Tipene whanau as a toddler. He was raised in two cultures, NZ Mori and NZ European. First published in 1996 Tim is now the author of more than thirteen books, five of which have won awards. Isobel Te Aho-White, (Ngti Kahungunu/Ngi Tahu) a very popular illustrator based in Wellington. My personal artwork is definitely about connecting people with each other and with nature uplifting people, especially young women, Isobel remarks.
