Maudie Smith started work as an actress before moving to Bath with her TV screenwriter husband. She gave up touring theatre when she had children. In the last couple of years she's written a libretto for a newly commissioned opera and run a very successful school drama club, all while raising two daughters, cats, chickens, guinea pigs and more. Ali Pye grew up in Herefordshire and has wanted to illustrate books for as long as she can remember. She studied Fashion Communication at Central St Martins and Illustration at Kingston University, graduating from her MA course in 2010. She has illustrated several books for children, including Where is Fred and Dinosaurs Do Too! Ali lives in Twickenham with her husband and two young sons.
