The author wrote 'Masked Munchkins " during the Covid-19 pandemic to help little ones, two to six years old make sense of their changing world. She was especially inspired by a story on the news of a two year old not wanting to wear a mask on a plane.
The child's upsetment ultimately led to the family having to exit and miss their trip. The book easily explains in simple words and childlike illustrations why their world is so different due to a virus. Children do much better if they can be very prepared for changes in their surroundings and what is expected of them. It was the authors goal to achieve this level of understanding in the minds of an inquisitive child.
The author, better known as Nonna, grew up in northern New Jersey and is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She is the mother of four children, two stepchildren and the grandmother of seven, two boys, five girls and a little girl on the way. Children in other words, as you might have guessed, have been the focus of her life. It has been a long time dream to write a book and during the Pandemic Masked Munchkins became a reality. Elizabeth and her husband Joe, now reside in Florida with their little Morky Jake.
