The fourth title in the number one bestselling CHERUB series! A routine operation for James turns into a much more deadly mission ...
Leon is a small-time crook who's ridden his luck for three decades. When he starts splashing big money around, the cops are desperate to know where it came from. They call in CHERUB, a secret organisation with one essential advantage: even experienced criminals never suspect that children are spying on them. James' latest mission looks routine, but the plot he begins to unravel isn't what anyone expected. And the only person who might know the truth is a reclusive eighteen-year-old boy. There's just one problem. The boy fell to his death thirteen months earlier.'An excellent start to a promising series. It is every boy's wish to be a spy, and this book will enthrall every single one of them.' -- The Bookseller Praise for books in the CHERUB series: 'Punchy, exciting, glamorous and, what's more, you'll completely wish it was true.' -- The Sunday Express 'An exciting, swiftly moving tale' -- School Librarian 20041001 'A fast-paced action thriller, which should turn into a fantastic series - if James manages to live that long.' -- Young Post 20041001
Robert Muchamore was born in Islington in 1972. He still lives there, and works as a private investigator. He was inspired to create the CHERUB series by his nephews' complaints about the lack of anything for them to read! CHERUB: The Recruit was Robert's first book and recently won the Red House Children's Book Award 2005 in the Older Readers Category.
