Lori Miller Kase is an award-winning journalist, short story writer, essayist, and young adult author. Her articles, essays and fiction have appeared in many publications, including Literary Mama, The Atlantic, Brain, Child and Discover. As a journalist, she has worked as a reporter-trainee at The New York Times, a health editor at Vogue, and a freelance writer, covering topics ranging from the effects of music on the brain to clean beauty. But as a life-long lover of books, who has wanted to be an author since elementary school, she is most excited about writing books for children and young adults. Lori studied creative writing at Brown University and at Wesleyan University, where she earned a Master's degree, and occasionally teaches it to elementary and middle school students. She loves to inspire young writers, just as her own teachers encouraged her. Lori's debut novel, The Accident was the YA finalist for the 2024 Tassy Walden Awards for New Voices in Children's Literature. She is currently working on a second YA novel set in Paris. The mother of two young adults, Lori writes from Simsbury, Connecticut, where she lives with her husband, a bossy dog, and an ever-expanding collection of books.
