"Diya's Daring Blanket" follows "Maya's Magical Laundry Basket" and is the second in "The Adventuristas" series, a set of six children's books for boys and girls ages 4 to 8 designed to entertain and demonstrate to young children how to occupy their minds without digital distractions or the need for parental figures to entertain them. In "Diya's Daring Blanket", Diya continues the fun of a snowy day while indoors after a cold day playing outside. She takes her family's warm blanket and dreams up a series of exciting, globe-spanning adventures, teaching others how to use their imaginations, re-kindle and spark inner creativity and experience wonder and adventure every day.
Carolyn is a global adventurer, traveling to six continents, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and completed two Ironman competitions in addition to over 30+ marathons and triathlons. Through all of that travel, she recognized some of the best adventures are the ones you dream up in your mind with just a few props to get you started. That's how The Adventuristas series was born. Today, she and her husband, John, baby and two rescue hounds (Maharaja Snugglebottom Flority, a beagle, and Cooper Cuddlestud Flority, a blue-tick coon) live on the side of a volcano on the island of Luzon in the southwest Pacific. Their home base for more adventures, real and imaginary!
