Gibble the Goblin has a problem, but it is a problem that many children share; how to ask nicely for things. Now, the topic of manners and etiquette in children's literature may seem trite, vapid, or over done - but really when you look at it - it's actually quite profound. Research has shown that the pleasure centers of our brains respond when some one is nice and/or polite to us and alternatively, the pain receptors react when someone is mean and/or rude to us. Learning manners is really about respect and common human decency which is a hugely important lesson to absorb at any age, but especially for young minds. Learning to to treat others -regardless of ethnicity, race, or religion- with respect and dignity is one of the great pillars of being a decent person and that all starts with "please" and "thank you".

Author Bio

Born Bill Sugg III, this author/illustrator has been making art and working with children his whole life. It is perhaps no wonder then that creating fun and interesting children's book was the path he'd eventually take. His experiences over seas has showed him the common denominator running through all children and all societies, and he tries to bring that into his work. His illustrations are bright and cartoonish which pairs nicely with his words which tend to rhyme and lean toward the lyrical.
