Author Bio

Pat Hutchins (Author)

Pat Hutchins illustrated and wrote over fifty children's books. She won the Kate Greenaway Award in 1974 for The Wind Blew, and was shortlisted for the same award five years later for One-Eyed Jack. She presented the TV series Rosie and Jim and played the role of the artistic narrowboat owner for two years.

Jessica Meserve (Illustrator)

Illustrator Jessica Meserve has published several picture books and early readers including the Daisy Dawson series, Small and One Special Day: A Story for Big Brother and Sisters by Lola M. Schaefer.

She enrolled on the MA in Children's Book Illustration at Anglia Ruskin, graduating in 2017 with a distinction. There she rediscovered her love of painting and drawing with watercolour, crayon, pencil and ink.

In 2020 her picture book What Clara Saw was nominated for the CILIP Carnegie Medal.
