Snake is elegant and calm, and a little self-centred; Lizard is exuberant and irrepressible. With its wisdom, acceptance and good humour, Snake and Lizard captures the essence of friendship. The stories are beautifully illustrated by Gavin Bishop in warm and clear colours of the desert.
"Cowleys funny, touching stories develop a whole cast of memorable characters around the two central desert-dwellers, whose lively, occasionally testy friendship embodies a wealth of wisdom about how to live with other people. Bishops simple pictures are amazingly expressive."
