About the author- Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874-1942) was a Canadian author who wrote around 500 short stories and poems, as well as twenty published novels. The years she spent on the beautiful Prince Edward Island influenced her writing and inspired her stories of the loveable, red-headed orphan, Anne Shirley.
