Orphaned as a child, tormented by her guardian and cast out to a harsh boarding school, Jane Eyre has been raised in the shadow of cruelty and isolation. But when she takes a job as governess in Thornfield Hall, where secrets lurk in the attic and strange laughter echoes through the night, Jane meets the elusive Mr Rochester - and her life is irrevocably transformed.
Poignantly and powerfully retold in this stunning edition, Jane Eyre is the tale of a spirited heroine's search for love, independence and belonging.
"The surprising triumph of this book is that, despite the ruthless trimming, Bronts voice can still be heard ... Faced with the task of turning a complex classic into an easy read, Landman has excelled" -- Telegraph
"A superb adaption of the beloved classic, it beautifully captures the emotion and intense narrative voice of the original. For those who love Charlotte Brnte's original, this is the perfect partner. For those new to the story, it is the perfect introduction" -- Scotsman
"A fluid, fluent work in its own right In Landman, Jane has found the perfect translator to introduce her to modern teen readers" -- South China Morning Post
