This book includes expert notes on the original art and its relationship to the classic stories.

Featuring the full original text of both The Jungle Book and The Second Jungle Book, these collections of short stories tell the unforgettable tale of Mowgli, the man-cub abandoned in the Indian jungle, and his animal friends and foes. They also feature such well-known poems and stories as 'Rikki-Tikki-Tavi' and 'The Law of the Jungle'. It's the perfect gift for young readers, or anyone who wants a beautifully bound edition of this classic story.

This volume is part of the new Masterpiece Classics series from Welbeck, which includes Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, with more titles to be released in the coming months.

Author Bio

Rudyard Kipling was born in Bombay, but educated in England. In 1882 he returned to India, where he started work as a journalist and, while there, produced a body of work, stories, sketches and poems, which made him an instant literary celebrity. The Jungle Book, published in 1894, became a children's classic all over the world. The National Gallery, London houses one of the greatest collections of paintings in the world. It contains over 2,300 works, representing all major traditions of Western European painting from the 13th Century onwards.
