Spoilt and contrary Mary Lennox is sent to live at her uncle's gloomy manor in Yorkshire. Here, quite unexpectedly, she discovers a new world of warmth and friendship. Unlocking a hidden garden in the grounds, Mary reveals a place of enchantment that begins to weave its magic on her and those around her.
This delightful edition of The Secret Garden catches the eye. The cover has gold foil elements and the page edges are sprayed to form a high quality, colour illustration. Inside, Luisa Uribe's vibrant, full-page, full-colour artworks bring the classic story to life for a new generation of readers.
Frances Hodgson Burnett (1949-1924) was an English-American novelist and playwright best known for her three children's novels Little Lord Fauntleroy (1885), A Little Princess (1905) and The Secret Garden (1911).
Luisa Uribe lives in Bogot, Colombia. Her primary passion is children's books, especially picture books. Her work was selected in 2015 to be part of the Iberoamerica Ilustra catalogue, which showcases some of the best illustration work by Spanish-speaking artists.
