Description

For fans of GEEK GIRL and SUPER AWKWARD comes a hilarious new teen series from CBBC presenter and Capital FM DJ, Lauren Layfield.

On arrival at St. Cath's - I'm escorted to my form group by a bespectacled receptionist called Miss McGregor. She's got massive, cuddly boobs, I'm guessing she's probably a 38G from where I'm standing, and I want to clutch onto them and have her tell me it's all going to be OK.

"I HAVE AN ALLERGY TO COCKROACHES," I blurt out. I have no idea where this particular Lie has come, but it's here now...

Meet Indi Raye. Her dad has 100% not just left without a trace, leaving her mum listening to Adele every night in the bath and crying. No, dad is obvs just away travelling the world on business, and sometimes Indi flies out to meet him, and picks up boyfriends, like cute Spanish Enrrrriiique. Sometimes it's easier just to FAKE IT.

Whenever Indi lies to her mum, her mum simply replies "and I'm Beyonce", but will new friends Priya and Grace be able to see who the real Indi Raye is And is she lying to cover up her feelings about her dad leaving

A modern teenage self-love story, about how to fake it until you make... friends.

Author Bio

Lauren Layfield has become one of CBBC's most popular faces. She presents a wide range of shows including live CBBC HQ, BAFTA-award-winning The Dengineers and weekly music show The Playlist. This year she will also present The Dog Ate My Homework; a comedy panel show. On top of her TV career, Lauren is also the host of Capital FM's Early Breakfast Show, weekdays from 4-6am, waking up the nation's early risers.

Lauren has written articles on the struggles of growing up a girl in today's social media-filled world and is also an ambassador for mental health charity Young Minds. She's worked with the likes of the NSPCC on online safety and hosted Channel 4's social action podcast for teen soap Hollyoaks. Her aim is to bring her expertise of young people together with her love of comedy, to create a novel that teenagers will hold onto, just as she holds onto her Judy Blume books.

Lauren lives in London and lives with her partner Luke, who's a teacher and comedy writer and puppy, Duckie.
