Across the meandering river, In a forest tall and green, Live the magical Wilderness Fairies And their wise Fairy Queen...' Daisy the Wilderness Fairy can't wait to use her wonderful new wings, but first she must learn how to fly. And who better to teach her than her Aunt Acacia - dressmaker and all-round eccentric fairy. But when there is so much to learn about the forest before she can even twinkle her toes off the ground, Daisy's impatience gets the better of her, with disastrous consequences.
Jodie's life has revolved around kids and their books. Working in public libraries on the weekends when she was younger, she discovered her favourite kids' authors, and those that still inspire her. She studied teacher-librarianship at university and has been a practising teacher for almost 20 years, but writing has never been far from her thoughts - teaching during the day and writing at night. She has published articles, reviews and teacher resources both on an off the web. Jodie has been the President of the Sutherland Shire Branch of The Fellowship of Australian Writers, a committee member of the Illawarra Branch of the Children's Book Council of Australia and the founder and Coordinator of the Sutherland Shire Writers' Festival. She lives in Sydney's south.
