Author Bio

Maya Cameron-Gordon is an author, a mom, and a former teacher. She also graduated with an MFA in filmmaking and is extremely passionate about the representation of Black children in media. Through her film and childrens books, Maya hopes to further diversify childrens fantasy and make it a genre in which Black children can easily find characters that look like themselves. Mirelle Ortegais a Mexican writer and illustrator for kidlit and animation. The many childrens books she's illustrated include her author-illustrator debut picture book, Magic; theLove Sugar Magicseries by Anna Meriano;Pepe and the Paradeby Tracey Kyle; andSmall Room, Big Dreamsby Monica Brown.
