Reviews

"Dick King-Smith at his best ... Don't be deceived by its apparent simplicity: it stands reading and re-reading, and each time you chuckle at something different" Independent "Larger than life characters leap from the pages of this engaging and humourous story" Junior Education "This simple yet engaging adventure tale wsill amuse young readers and give them a taste of Dick King-Smith's unique, often amusing, narrative style" Through the Looking Glass "An unusual theme that gives rise to a great deal of humour ... The illustrations are jaunty and the writing uncluttered and unsentimental" Nursery World "Told with the exuberant brand of humour we associate with Dick King-Smith ... An excellent buy" -- Jack Ousbey Carousel
