Feeling torn apart by the Taylor family's recent move, best friends Ashley Sanchez (Ash) and Ashlee Taylor (Lee) set out to find an activity they can enjoy together. Being so different from one another, this isn't as easy as it sounds. Ash wants to teach Lee some basketball moves, while Lee hopes to share her love of art with Ash. But sharing their hobbies doesn't go as planned, and soon Ash and Lee worry that they will never find the perfect activity for the two of them. AGES: 6-8 AUTHOR: Raised in the Chicago suburb of Hoffman Estates, Michele Jakubowski has the teachers in her life to thank for her love of reading and writing. While writing has always been a passion for Michele, she believes it is the books she has read throughout the years, and the teachers who assigned them, that have made her the storyteller she is today. ILLUSTRATOR: Born in Transylvania, Heidi Fekete grew up watching and drawing her favourite cartoon characters. Each night, her mother read her beautiful bedtime stories, which made her love for storytelling grow. Heidi's love for books and animation stuck with her through the years, inspiring her to become an illustrator, digital artist, and animator.
These two friends never get to see each other now that they don't live across the hallway. So, they're determined to find an activity they both enjoy. Only they're very different so it proves to be trickier than they expect. Luckily, the friends do find something -- gymnastics!-- "Imagination Soup"
Working at a school (and having two of her own children) gives Michele Jakubowski more than enough experiences to draw from when writing middle-level fiction. Michele has also written other popular books in the Sidney & Sydney series and the Perfectly Poppy early chapter book set. Michele lives in Powell, Ohio, with her husband, John, and their children, Jack and Mia.
