Jonathan Harlen was born in New Zealand but now lives in coastal New South Wales, near Byron Bay, with his wife and three young children. He runs a small farm, where he grows coffee beans and cabinet timbers. He has published many books in various genres and for various age groups. They including the much-acclaimed young adult novel, The Lion and the Lamb, Fireflies (also for young adults), and The Cockroach War (for younger readers). Jonathan feels he has found his niche in writing comic novels for the 8-12 age group, and Brain Scam has been followed by several more in the same madcap vein.
