Charlotte has made it into the prestigious Junior Olympic Equestrian Squad (JOES), and Leila is having so much fun with Charlotte that she's given up her sparkling Hollywood movie career, for now. The Evil Three, Emma, Lucinda and Rebecca, are back to make Charlotte's life difficult. Luckily, Charlotte finds a friend in Hannah, a new JOES recruit. But this means she has less time to spend with Leila - and Leila is a horse who doesn't like to be ignored. Unfortunately, things get a whole lot worse when Charlotte is sent to a deportment academy, and she returns to Thornton Downs to discover Leila has been sold to a disreputable showman. Charlotte has to get Leila back, but it will take all her courage and brains, as well as help from Todd and Hannah, to rescue her best friend.
DAVE WARNER is the author of six novels, five non-fiction books and three children's books. He originally gained national recognition as a musician and songwriter, but more recently music has been secondary to Dave's career as a writer for stage, television, feature films, radio and newspapers - including feature films CUT (starring Kylie Minogue and Molly Ringwald) and GARAGE DAYS (co-written with director Alex Proyas) and TV script editing and writing for MCLEOD'S DAUGHTERS. He currently has a number of feature scripts in development ... when he's not busy writing books in the CHARLOTTE AND THE STARLET series. Dave lives in Sydney with his wife and three children.
