Description

In this stand-alone sequel to Writing in Wet Cement and Creepy Cool, Angus's day starts badly because his mum and dad are in the middle of an argument and the whole family is being snapped at. Then Dad sees Mum and Angus lying on the floor and thinks it's stacks-on- the-mill, so he piles on to have some fun. Unfortunately, Mum was trying to do a yoga stretch on her bad back - and this really sets her off! She storms out to her garden party, glad to see the back of the family.

The rest of them take off for the tip. And while they're scavenging illegally, Sputz the dog chases a rabbit and ends up getting stuck in an old pipe. He can't get out, and soon the fire brigade and the local tv news crew are onto the story. (It's a country town and a no-news day, and the rescue will make a cute happy story at the end of the bulletin).

Back home, Mum is telling everyone about the disastrous day she had when she turned up in her best gear for a garden party when in fact it was a "gardenING party". And suddenly the story that Dad had been keeping quiet, about the chaos he caused at the tip, is broadcast on the news. It's been a dog of a day for everyone, and the laughter brings the family

Author Bio

Andrew Daddo's first book, Sprung! was an immediate hit, followed by two very successful Hotshots titles, Writing in Wet Cement and Creepy Cool and his second collection Sprung Again! in Oct 2002. Andrew is best known as a high profile television presenter, but he has worked in theatre, film and as a journalist. His television work with children clearly contributes to the hilarious and loving portrayal of families in his fiction. Andrew and his wife Jacqui have two pre-schoolers and live in Sydney.

Craig Smith is one of Australia's best loved illustrators and his books for young people of all ages have won awards and been published around the world. Craig lives in Melbourne.
