A brilliantly funny and moving tale of music, friendship and other weighty issues, by a fantastic new writer, K. L. Going. When Troy (a hugely overweight social leper) befriends Curt (a skinny homeless punk guitar genius), they both get much more than they bargained for. Troy's macho brother and ex-Marine father think Curt is just a junkie loser - but as Curt stopped Troy's suicide attempt, Troy can't just forget him. Curt recruits Troy as the new drummer in his punk band - but Troy has never played the drums in his life. When Curt's around, though, almost anything seems possible. An outstanding, heart-warming, funny, edgy, debut novel.
K. L. Going lives in Glen Spey, NY. Since graduating college she has worked as an adult literacy tutor, a ticket agent for an airline, a front desk clerk at a resort hotel, as an assistant to two agents at a Manhattan Literary agency, and a manager of an independent bookstore. Currently she is writing full time. She has lived in Maine, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Louisiana and New York City and has a very unsettling obsession with Ketchup.
