Description

Danielle is an energetic, assertive, and rambunctious ten year old elementary student. Except her extrovert personally is only in her imagination. Danielle has Otosclerosis, a type of hearing loss. This requires her to wear hearing aids. Although Danielle has friends, she constantly deals with the looks and questions about her hearing aids and now she is being bullied by her classmate Gia. She battles her insecurities, lack of self-confidence, and health concerns. She receives loving support from her family, her friend Autumn, and a special new friend Sam. Sam is the girl in the box. Sam provides Danielle with her colorful off-beat solution to bullying. Danielle learns a valuable lesson about trust, herself, and people along the way. With the help of her new friend she learns who people really are. Sometimes the person shown to your parents and teachers, isn't the same person they show you. And sometimes even the person they show you isn't the person they are.

Author Bio

I'm happy to share some of my childhood experiences. I always had a big imagination growing up. My favorite place is Disneyland and anything Disney. I enjoy creating animation. I have now have two bachelor degrees. Entertainment Engineering & Design and Mechanical Engineering. I won first place for my Engineering & Design project. Although, I had some fears growing up, I overcame those fears and found myself pursuing two male dominated fields. I feel it's especially important for females to challenge and overcome those fears. I hope to continue sharing my experiences. Thanks to my dad and family.
