Reviews

In this Hello Genius series book published by Capstone Publishers, Duck is happy with wearing his diapers until one day, his mother announces that there will be no more diapers and Duck must learn to use the potty. Duck has several accidents as are common with the potty training process. However, Duck discovers that sitting on the potty isn't so bad after all! I enjoyed reading this colorful, engaging, easy-to-read book! This is well written and designed so that young children of all ages who are learning to potty train will enjoy this... despite the subject area! This book is quite durable and can even be read while the child is sitting on the potty! I loved the bright colors especially the bright yellow, oranges, blues, teal, lavender.. The pictures and large bold colored words are cute too. This book is quite a feast for the eyes. I giggled when I read, "Remember to wash your feathers," says Mommy." How cute and clever. I would recommend this delightful book to young children all of all ages who are potty training. This book is a welcome addition to any home, school, and public library... I think that this is a must read for any parent about to engage in the potty training process.. You won't be disappointed! Kudos to Michael Dahl, Oriol Vidal, and of course Capstone Publisher for another job... well done! http: //dailychildbook.blogspot.com/2010/05/capstone-presents-duck-goes-potty-by.html-- "Children's Book a Day Blog"
...another fun read that emphasizes, like many potty-training books, that mistakes will happen. . . .The pint-size book also packs easily in a purse and can be read anywhere for encouragement when attempting to use a potty.-- "Yakima Herald-Republic"
Bunny loves to chew anything-trees, a guitar, vegetables. When eating vegetables, "Bunny chews them all together! Big, big yum! Burp." In the second book, Duck is learning to use his potty chair. "The first time, Duck misses. Quack! The second time, Duck misses. Quack!!" He eventually gets it right. Children may enjoy the gross-out humor and colorful pages, but there is nothing to set these books apart from the many other titles that fill this niche. Barbro Lindgren's Sam's Potty (HarperCollins, 1986) and Sara Anderson's Vegetables (Handprint, 2007) cover these subjects well.-- "School Library Journal"
In this Hello Genius board book, Duck is pretty happy with the diaper system--who wouldn't be But one day Mommy announces, "No more diapers, Duck." Duck has a few misfires (and yes, we get to see his puddles and other deposits) before finally figuring it out. The book has a bright, zany style that keeps things at kid level while getting a lot of mileage out of Duck's daffy expressions of horror and glee. Although there are a few odd details (who uses diaper pins anymore), this book is not only fun but durable enough to survive a few real-life training sessions.-- "Booklist"
