Years ago in a mountain village called Aldburg, the townspeople had rid the area of wolves because they would eat the town's livestock when they grew hungry during wintertime. Hoky is the sole survivor of the last wolf pack in the region and, against all odds, gradually becomes friends with a young shepherd named Jacob who works to earn his trust.
