The snark and instant chemistry ofBetter Than the Moviesmeets the indulgent summer fun and family hijinks ofThe Summer of Broken Rulesin this compulsively readable rom-com from Alex Light, author ofThe Upside of Falling.
Jackie Myers is a fraud. Or she might be a geniusthe jurys still out.
The thing is, she secretly runs pleasebreakmyheart, a gone-viral account aimed at breaking hearts and ending relationships.... And she just used it to break up her insufferable eternal nemesis's picture-perfect relationship.
Wilson is the buttoned-up, type A assistant manager of her nightmaresbut it turns out hes also, apparently, a really great boyfriend.
So with her conscience (and paycheck) on the line, Jackie decides theres only one thing to do: Shes going to help Wilson win his ex-girlfriend back. Which should be easy, considering Jackie hates him...right
"Such a delight! Alex Light's sharp sense of humor shines on every page. But it's the wonderful Rom under the Com that will keep readers rooting for Jackie and Wilson. Simply terrific!" Jenn Bennett, author ofAlex, Approximately "Set in the endearingly comedic world of Montes Magic Castle,Its Not Me, Its Youthoughtfully captures how it feels to be directionless and unsure at the outset of adulthood. Jackies voice is funny and engaging, and I loved watching her progress from enemies to allies to much, muchmore with Wilson. Alex Light has gifted us a sweet coming-of-age romance about one girls journey to chart her own course and figure out who she isand what happens when we stop focusing on everyone elses stories to start writing our own." Ellen O'Clover, author ofSeven Percent of Ro Devereux Praise for Alex Light: A syrupy ode to what it feels like to slowly fall for someone for the first time. Kirkus Reviews "Light has done it againthis is a great YA contemporary romance. The writing is heartbreakingly beautiful. Readers will immediately be drawn into this interestingly painful journey as the characters try to find their way out of the darkness, alone and together." School Library Journal (starred review) "A sweet and fun debutthat neatlyriffs on the unrealistic expectations romance novels can set for real life." Booklist "A compelling look at complicated grief." Kirkus Reviews
