Author Bio

The award-winning author Irene Aparici was born with a notebook in one hand and a pencil in the other. She has lived in Spain and in Ecuador. As a professional, she has worked mainly in the financial sector, but has also worked as a professor at a university, a rural estates administrator, a mediator in extrajudicial conflicts, and an international cooperator. In 2011, Irene was diagnosed with breast cancer, to which she lost her battle in 2014. The award-winning author and illustrator Mnica Carretero was born in Madrid but now lives in Segovia. She is self-taught and her colourful and vivid illustrations have received international recognition and she is now a very succesful illustrator of children's picture books. La galardonada autora Irene Aparici naci con un cuaderno en una mano y un lpiz en la otra. Ha vivido en Espaa y en Ecuador. Como profesional, ha trabajado principalmente en el sector financiero, y tambin se ha dedicado a actividades tan variadas como la docencia universitaria, la administracin de fincas rsticas, la mediacin de conflictos extrajudiciales o la cooperacin internacional. En 2011, le diagnosticaron un cncer de mama, una batalla que perdi en 2014. La galardonada ilustradora e autora Mnica Carretero naci en Madrid pero ahora vive en Segovia. Es autodidacta y sus ilustraciones coloridas y vvidas han recibido el reconocimiento internacional y ahora es una ilustradora muy acertada de los libros ilustrados para nios.
